Steve is given full credit for the titles and will hopefully contribute more comprehensive descriptions of the events. See below.
The pieces were located around The School of Music, Bates Housing, and Huron River. September, 1969 Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Probably No Turtles was based on the Huron river and the bridge closest to North Campus. The event started early in the morning, and coincided with the morning rush hour. A rowboat glided from Island Park with an oarsman steering while his sole passenger, a violinist played feverishly. I think it was Vivaldi. As the boat and music passed beneath the bridge, they were chased by tethered foam floaters and a 75' long clear tube with a black "foot" on the end. We watched for turtles that morning and saw none. There were probably no turtles. The photos, two on the far right and one on the far left, show the balloon and tethered foam. I wish I had some music to match the sound of that clear crisp morning.
